Surprise treat for Land and Property first year students

First year students from the Land and Property Management courses at Harper Adams have completed their final face to face session and are now continuing the rest of their winter term studies entirely online, following Government guidelines.

Before departing, Course Tutor and Senior Lecturer Andrew Black took the opportunity to congratulate his students for showing positivity and determination in their first term away from home in these challenging circumstances.

Andrew said:“The last term has been a huge challenge for my students in terms of adapting to living away from home, engaging in a blended teaching model of online and in-person teaching sessions, and not being able to do all the usual University fun and games due to Covid-19. Despite these challenges my students have shown incredible perseverance and I am immensely proud of them all."

As a treat to mark the occasion, Shropshire-based firm Atchams Chartered Surveyors sponsored the surprise and called upon the crafting skills of Planet Doughnut to produce unique doughnuts for each of the students.

Director of Atchams, Gareth Lay commented:“Andrew approached us to help out with providing his students with something to say well done for the past few months and we immediately signed up to help.

"Chartered Surveyors are renowned as problem solvers and, from what I have seen of these students, I have every confidence that their positive ‘can-do’ attitudes living within the tight restrictions placed on them by Covid-19 will serve them well in their future careers as property experts."
